Dear All,
Its been a while, well I moved into my new flat in a area called Al-Saad, living on my own but will c how long that lasts!
Its a nice new flat, and its quite cool in that it has a fairly large TV, but as with many things in the Gulf, the list of problems with the flat are endless, and means constant ringing up and getting people to change and fix things, well hopefully things will get better soon in that respect!
I cooked for the first time whilst I been here, it wasn't much, to be honest many people wouldn't even call it cooking, I fried some chips and some chicken dippers, and heated some rice (and when I say heated I mean in the microwave not boil lol!) however I haven't lived in a place I feel comfortable to cook for about 8 months, and even then I was working too much to cook. In my first yr of Project Mgt for Construction, I cooked loads, it was partly wit the fact that I had a nice flat, along with the fact I had a lot of free time, and the people I was living with, also liked to cook,so that kind of helped. Also I met Sham after that, and she is a great chef, so I didn't need/have to cook much after that apart from special occasions such as making the worlds greatest cake for Shaminas 22nd bday!
Apart from cooking I haven't done that much around the flat, I mean I moved in at the weekend and spent all weekend moving stuff in, and then on Saturday getting to know the area, I also purchased a smartcard for the satellite dish which means I can watch premiership football! However like I said with all things here, something went wrong, and now its already back in the shop, but whilst going through the channels I found the most bizarre channel, Charlton TV, based on Charlton football team, I mean who the hell would want to see that? and who the hell especially would want to see it here in the middle east. I have Real Madrid TV which is completely understandable, but Charlton, that's jus pure and utter nonsense!
I have been writing a entry to do on the Asia games and will hopefully post it this weekend and for those of you on facebook, I have the pictures of the Asia games on their along with other amazing pictures that I took over the last couple of months! I really feel my photography is really coming along though many of you may disagree, and even call me pervy for some of the shots I took during the Gymnastics, however I can for once say in a positive way, I saw the women as objects similar to a bowl of fruit and not in a sexual way, so therefore deemed the photos to be more artistic than anything else.
I will be back in the UK in jus over a week and can not freakin wait, I really need2get out of ere as its driving me crazy, when I was at uni I was looking forward to work in a way that it wud bring much needed structure into my life, as well as much needed money, however I negleted to factor the pressures of working,(away from home in this case)and it makes it all the more tough. It also makes u question if you are ready for this life you have chosen, the life that everyone around you seems perfectly fine to do, the life that your parents/uncles+aunties have been doing for the last 20 years, one bad day in the office and it knocks your self-confidence so much so that you begin to question even the point of working at all. But then what drives those around you/your parents/uncle+aunties is responsiblity, they cant afford to even think about giving up, they must succed, and its this life and death mentality that causes most people to succed so I need this motivation for me to succeed...I think! I know working in the UK suxs majorly financially but I know at one point like I said in the last entry its my home and I will want go back, and so I need to decide my future plans over the forthcoming months and decide where the short+long term future takes me...
Aneway its taking me to a meeting now!
Takecare
Asif
